Are you afraid that friends may be driving drunk, but you‘re not sure?

Now you can measure anyone’s exact alcohol level with a portable breath tester. Simply blow into the tester and your blood alcohol level will be displayed in seconds.”

Breathalyzer.net offers both personal and professional models of breathalyzers. They sell 8 different models ranging from $59.99 for the basic personal model to $480 for the top of the line professional model. You might be wondering to yourself, “how accurate are these things?”. Here’s the answer:

“Very accurate. The Alcohawk series testers use advanced semiconductor sensors and have accuracy levels of ±0.01% at 0.10% BAC. Each model provides an exact blood alcohol level (BAC) reading to one hundredth of one percent. Some law enforcement organizations actually use the Alcohawk ABI and Alcohawk Pro testers as preliminary alcohol screening devices.”

This would be a great tool for one to have to check your BAC before you get behind the wheel of a car. $100 is certainly cheaper than getting a DUI or worse. Click to view all of Breathalyzer.net’s products.

Want to prevent a hangover before it even starts? Try out these great pills before you start drinking.

NoHang is a revolutionary hangover prevention supplement scientifically designed to neutralize dangerous toxins during alcohol consumption. Unlike other hangover prevention pills, NoHang works immediately and continuously (for up to 24 hours) on a single dose, so you can drink the night away, without worrying about a nasty hangover the next morning.

Other hangover prevention products require you to take 2 pills before you drink, 2 pills while you’re drinking, and 2 more pills when you’re finished drinking for the night. Who’s got time to organize and calculate their pill intake while they’re having fun drinking? The leading hangover prevention pills work for only 3 hours or six drinks – anything past those limitations requires more pills.

How NoHang Prevents Hangovers
When you drink, your body starts breaking down all the ingredients in alcohol, producing harmful by-products and toxins such as acetaldehyde that wreak havoc on your immune system. NoHang’s advanced botanical complex works to immediately neutralize those toxins, helping to protect you against irritating hangover symptoms such as dry mouth, nausea, fatigue, dizziness and headaches.

Alcohol consumption also causes dehydration by flushing a significant quantity of vitamins and nutrients from your system. This creates a degree of metabolic shock that your body struggles to compensate for – causing what’s commonly known as “the jitters.” NoHang’s powerful ingredients help you avoid all these hangover symptoms by protecting your immune system against depletions in Vitamin A, Vitamin B, and Vitamin C. Before alcohol can cause the lasting (morning after) effects on your body, NoHang’s Hangover prevention formula will have already flushed out the toxins from your system.

When you drink alcohol, your body tries to metabolize the toxins in an efficient manner.

When you drink alcohol, your body tries to metabolize the toxins in an efficient manner. But when the toxins get too much for your body to handle, you get a hangover.

Alcohol acts as a diuretic and causes your body to release more urine than normal. When you are drinking alcohol, your body needs more water than normal because your kidneys and live need the water to process the toxins. If you don’t have enough water and fluids available, your body redistributes whatever water is available. Every part of your body is affected by this, which is why you get hangover headaches. Your body will be dehydrated so you need to replenish.

Congeners are another cause of hangovers. They are impurities that are created during the fermentation process of some types of alcohols. Cheaper liquors generally have higher levels of congeners because they go through less of a filtration process. Dark liquors (whiskey, red wine, dark rum, etc.) are the same way, so try to stay away from these.

Find out how to prevent hangovers and how to cure hangovers.

Hangovers result in some very unpleasant mental and physical symptoms.

Hangovers result in some very unpleasant mental and physical symptoms. They are nature’s way of telling us that we’re harming our bodies. Symptoms can vary from person to person, but the following is a basic guide to what is happening to your body during a hangover.

Hangovers will typically begin only a few hours after you stop drinking. Hangover symptoms will usually peak about the time your BAC (blood alcohol content) has reached zero and can continue for 24 hours. The type of alcohol you have been drinking and the number of drinks you have can have an effect on what your hangover symptoms are.

Fatigue and drowsiness are two common symptoms that can occur. The REM (rapid eye movement) cycle of sleep is important for your brain to get the rest it needs. When you go to sleep with alcohol still in your system, your brain is unable to enter this stage of sleep. Your brain is then unable to relax the way that it needs to.

Hangover headaches are another common occurrence of hangovers. The more alcohol you drink, the more water your body needs. That is why it is so important to drink water before, during and after you consume alcohol. Headaches are a result of your brain becoming too dehydrated. It is not recommended that you take any type of headache reliever (Tylenol, Advil, etc.) because aspirin and ibuprofen can irritate the stomach lining and cause severe liver problems when mixed with alcohol.

Hangovers can cause such physical symptoms as thirst, muscle aches, increased sensitivity to light and sound and redness of the eyes. You may notice yourself having a rapid heartbeat, sweating or even tremors.

Mental symptoms can include dizziness, vertigo (when you feel like the room is spinning) and changes in your mood (anxiety, irritability, and depression)

So what can be done to help these symptoms go away? Rest is the most effective cure, but to speed things along, you can read our tips and tricks for treating hangovers andfind out if bananas really do cure hangovers.

While the only thing you can do to completely prevent hangovers is to not drink, there are some measures you can take to make your hangover as minimal as possible.

Drinking water is the most important part of preventing hangovers. Make sure you drink plenty of water before and after you drink. While you are drinking, try alternating alcoholic drinks with either water or a fruit juice.

Always eat something before you plan on drinking. Try not to have anything too fatty or greasy, but instead, eat something that is high in protein and carbs. If you can, also eat something after you are done drinking and make sure to drink plenty of water along with your meal.

Don’t go to bed immediately after you are finished drinking. Your metabolism slows down when you are asleep, so being awake will help to process the alcohol that is in your body.

Try to limit yourself to 1 drink an hour and also, don’t mix types of liquor (i.e. don’t drink beer, then wine, then a mixed drink), and avoid dark colored liquors (whiskey, red wine, dark rum, etc.). Also, try to take sips of your drink instead of big gulps. You want to give your body the best chance of processing the alcohol.

Not drinking really is the only way to completely prevent hangovers, if you follow the tips listed above, your hangover should be pretty minimal.

Headaches almost always occur when you have a hangover.

Headaches almost always occur when you have a hangover. In fact, even drinking small amounts can cause them. Alcohol causes dehydration and stresses your liver. Your liver produces glucose, or sugar, and brain cells are particularly susceptible to shortages in this. Alcohol also has an inflammatory effect, which makes your blood vessels swell.

Drinking plenty of water and eating something bland with protein and carbs, say eggs and toast, will help to get rid of a hangover headache. We recommend making our banana milkshake hangover cure.

Against popular belief, coffee is not a cure for a hangover headache. It can actually make your headache and hangover worse. It is a diuretic, which can cause you to become even more dehydrated.

You’ve probably heard the popular folk remedy that bananas cure hangovers, but is that true? It absolutely is! After a night of heavy drinking, your body is heavily depleted of potassium. That’s one of the main reasons you feel so horrible the next morning. Bananas are one of the highest natural sources of potassium, so eating one (or two) will help to replenish that lost potassium.

Bananas are also high in magnesium, which will help to reduce those pounding headaches by relaxing your blood vessels. In addition, bananas are a natural antacid, which will help to reduce any nausea or heartburn you are experiencing.
